Kitty Lessons

We have three little baby kittens in our house. They are little miracles, full of spit and vinegar. One day I went into the room we had them sequestered in, looking for a book. They (and their mom) scrambled around my feet, mewing furiously, pestering me for something. I did a quick visual check: food bowl full, water bowl clean and full, litter box clean... they had everything they needed. I told them that, then went back to looking for my book. The mewing and leg-rubbing continued, so I bent over and rubbed their heads a little, with some lovey words, then went back to searching for my book. They kept it up, I'm trying not to step on them, can't find the book... and now I'm getting annoyed. I checked again to make sure the water bowl really was full, then told them they had everything they need, so knock it off.
Then God thumped me on the head. I wondered if that's how God feels when we ask Him for things without recognising that he has already given us everything we need. I'll bet it is...
